Luis Alberto Gonzalez is a seasoned media consultant with over 35 years of experience in Radio, TV, Newspaper and Online journalism. He’s currently the owner and president of Newsroom Coaching & Consulting, company he founded in 2003 in Los Angeles, CA.

Luis Alberto started his TV career at WBZ TV in Boston, as a producer for Public Affairs programming. Since then, he has worked as a Producer, Talent, Executive Producer and News Director for media companies in the US and Latin America, including The Weather Channel, NBC Olympics, Telemundo, GFRMedia, Univision and ESPN.

The exposure to different corporate cultures has allowed Luis Alberto to learn the best practices in digital and social media strategies, content monetization, new technology, newsroom management, news coverage, and storytelling. Now his clients benefit from this knowledge, as he assists them in the design of new blueprints for their multi-platform operations.

He has spent the past 15 years leading the technological evolution of content providers, while managing its direct impact on journalism, content creation and distribution. He has witnessed many industry milestones such as the implementation of TV duopolies, the transition to tapeless, wireless, digital newsrooms, and the integration of social media. His work in local markets such as Boston, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Buenos Aires and San Juan, has given him a unique perspective regarding multicultural audiences, and their shift in behavior as consumers of content across multiple platforms.

Luis Alberto designs and conducts workshops for many media companies and universities, as well as for organizations such as the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the Radio and Television Digital News Association. He has been a guest facilitator at the prestigious Poynter Institute.

He’s also an Adjunct Professor of broadcast journalism at Miami Dade College, and a Curriculum Advisor for the University of the Sacred Heart’s Graduate Program in Digital Journalism, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His journalistic work has earned him Emmys, Golden Mikes, and the RTDNA Communicator Award.
